Where Our Organic Cotton Comes From — and Why It Matters

At Crimson Organic, we believe the materials that go into your period products should be as pure and trustworthy as possible. That’s why we’ve chosen certified organic cotton — grown, processed, and shipped under the most rigorous ethical and environmental standards. Here’s how it all comes together.

Grown in Trusted Organic Farms

Our organic cotton is predominantly grown and harvested in a region of Turkey renowned for producing the longest organic cotton fibres in the world — naturally reducing the risk of microbial infection. When required, additional organic cotton is sourced from Germany to maintain consistent quality and supply. Our manufacturer has been working with the same family farms for generations, ensuring continuity and reliability.

Manufactured in Europe’s Leading Organic Factory

Once harvested, the cotton is sent to our manufacturer in Europe’s only tampon factory dedicated exclusively to organic cotton. This facility has been producing tampons for 95 years, using state-of-the-art technology for organic tampon production. Thanks to their experience and focus, they were able to maintain uninterrupted supply even through COVID, and we carry stock in our local NZ warehouse to ensure reliability.

Certified by Independent Global Standards

Our products and processes carry GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and ICEA (Istituto per la Certificazione Etica e Ambientale) certifications.

Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognised as the world's leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibres. It defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain and requires compliance with social criteria as well. 

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified products have been tested for harmful substances to protect your health. Tested for Toxic Chemicals. This label certifies that every component of the product has been rigorously tested against a list of up to 350 toxic chemicals

Shipped and Managed Locally

From Europe, the finished tampons are shipped to our third-party logistics warehouse in Tauranga, and dispatched to our New Zealand customers from there. This allows us to maintain tight control over quality and availability, reducing lead times and improving reliability for you.
